| We've used brisket tags since 1990 in all our cows and replacement heifers. We lose 1-2 a year out of a 140 cows. I still use ear tags on the calves and then retag the replacements. Brisket tags are very visible and not hard to put in.
We use Boc-Loc tags and my only real gripe is that the 0, the 6, and 9 tend to look alike. There is some fading on the tags older then 12 years, but still readable and by age 13 a lot of our cows hit the road. | |
