We have used summers harrow packers for 40+ years. They are not a field roller. Our ground is to black and holds moisture too well for a coil packer to work well behind a cultivator. The harrow through doesn’t work as deep and levels well and then the coil packer firms and increases soil/moisture to seed contact

We will typically seed earlier and move even emergence where we run the borrow packer.

Summers has two version a lite bent tooth harrow and this heavy tine harrow version.
