SW Mi.
Been doing sorghum for years. Just close up your mower to the width of your hay head and cut it. don.t rake or wind row it or any thing. Cut the stuff at 4" above the ground,allows air to flow. I cut mine the day before and chop it the next day. Never had any problems, and it does make great lower cost feed. I also bale this stuff and put int in a tube, easier that individually rapped bails. I do use a BMR type forage sorghum, so this cane you're talking about may be different.
