Subject: Re: Feeding whole corn?

Alma NE
We do Both at the place i work 50/50 in the feed
We put up high moisture pile and also feed either ground/rolled or whole kernel corn
Most of the time we will grind it but if we don't have time we will feed whole

Just a couple of weeks ago our high moisture pile ran out and before i had time to grind some corn we fed whole kernel corn as 100% of the corn
boy oh boy the cattle pens were yellow for a few days until i ground some corn

Here's another thing i have noticed out of the corn that has passed through the cattle some of it will grow . so i have a hard time seeing that the cattle have got the goodness out of the kernel if it is still able to grow .
maybe im wrong but i just hate to see all the kernels out in the cattle pens
