Subject: RE: Harbor Freight electric pole saw....

Pittsburg, Kansas

One trick about the 18 volt saws is to not try and use them like a gas chain saw and put the limb in the middle or at the tip of the bar. The chain speed is a lot slower and it will jerk and buck and a person will think it is a piece of junk. The trick is to just lay the saw on the limb and let the limb rest up against the case. Then the saw will chew through without a problem.

Took me a few limbs to figure that out. Goes for either the pole saws and the chain saws, at least with the Ryobi brand.

I imagine some of the higher end 40 volt saws probably have a higher chain speed, but I have not used any of them.
