This spring there were several press releases that federal water to farmers in CA would be reduced significantly. Some were to be shut off completely too.

That was supposedly because of drouth and low snow packs.

Also in the supply/demand scenario there is ALOT of hay out west. And alot of it is rained on, or reduced quality hay...not dairy quality.

Nevada is full of hay...it's a pretty good deal for the livestock in Nevada.

Matter of fact several livestck operators in NV are also buying CA hay ( kind of a reversal of the old market ).
