Saronville NE | I feel it does pay to grind the corn, they they get more use and energy out of it guicker then whole kernal corn. We dont have a roller mill, so we do use a grinder mixer, we took the screen completley out and just kinda crack it, was to fine and dusty with even the biggest screen in, we have goten along very well this way, still pry leaves 1/3 of the corn whole kernel but cracks the rest and only a fine amount of it being finer than Id like. Then when we grind we put the 40/15 pellets in then when the cattler get a little farther along we got to 40/20 pellets. Its a protein pellet with ruminsen in it. Then also the first of every month we grind auermycin crumbles in also for sickness promblems, after a intial couple pulls with new cattle, we VERY rarely pull any cattle, so we have stuck with the auremycin program the way we been doing it for that reason.
