for years inflate Supply #'s and lower demand on the balance sheets.
Drive down the price the farmer gets, but keep food cheap for the consumer. Big Picture: Commodity deflation helps keep an equity market that is heavily over leveraged with inflated price to earning ratio's propped up and the economy going.
Weather cycles will come into play in the next couple years (production threats), recession (or worse) could be on the horizon, if not already here.
All of a sudden the US is short crop, SA is short crop, our Chinese friends have depleted inventories and a starving country that has an insatiable appetite for proteins but nothing to feed the pigs.
Commodity inflation helps pull up a struggling economy. So the cycle begins again and the Commodity Boom is back on
