Oakland, Iowa | We have thought about pallet scales for a mobile system. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. I like the fact that we could pull from a tote with a two-inch hose for high volume products but for the smaller volumes, the resolution of a larger scale isn't very good. One pound increments are large compared to a 1/3 ounce increment through the gearmeter. We considered building pallet scales to go on a trailer or truck. Several things made a scale difficult: Trailers twist so it would have to have three load cells. Mounting and tie-downs have to be designed so the weight is not affected. The biggest problem from a manufacturing perspective was the cost.
I am not offended by any of the ideas. Mixmate is not the perfect solution for everyone. Everyone can benefit from these ideas that are being shared. | |
