Going to be uncomfortable today with high mid 90’s with upper 60’s dew points. The cattle in the lot are fat and some should have been gone 2-3 weeks ago but can’t get any out. So my question is should I water down the pads so they can lay on them to cool off. Or are there some other tricks to do the only plus it’s going to be pretty breezy so maybe that should help?
Shade with a low pressure mist sprinkler will possibly help a bit but the humidity is getting up there.
Shade with a high pressure misting system will help the most but the already higher humidity isn't a cure all either.
I wonder what guys feeding in say the southern coastal states or off the gulf of mexico are doing when it gets hot (besides feeding bos indicus rather than bos taurus)? |
