| we brand replacement heifers every year. Use cattle clippers to get down to skin brush off and soak area with methanol. Forgot to mention we have had better luck with cooling our irons with dry ice and methanol. Get an old cooler put a few gallons of methanol in it and add dry ice until stops boiling. keep adding dry ice to cooler while branding . hold irons on 45 to 50 seconds. If i could figure out how to take a picture of some of our brands to show i will Been doing it this way for 20+ years | |
