SW Ontario | In the older Maxxums,(T3) the non PRO models would be mechanical injection, whereas the PRO models had common rail injection. This is what made the difference between being boosted or not. On a 4A tractor, they would all be common rail, and would therefore all have boost available on them. That said, ALL Maxxum 140's, whether Tier 3 or 4A had common rail. All Tier 3 Maxxum 140 were PRO models.
Despite what tractor data is claiming, all 140 Maxxums had 6 cylinder engines.
There is very little difference between a Tier 3 140 and a Tier 4A Maxxum. To be honest, the only difference that comes to mind is that you have SCR (DEF) on the newer one.
With the 4A models, you really have to watch how a particular tractor is optioned out. With the Tier 3 models, PRO meant you had PFC hydraulics and EDC, and Value meant you didn't. With 4A, it's all in how it was optioned. | |
