Southeast WI | If you see a towboat going into a lock pull on in and enjoy that. We've done it a few times. Deck hands are always friendly, answer any questions and so are some of the lock keepers. We got a new appreciation for the river when we took a weeklong houseboat trip. In actuality the river isn't as big of a monster as it seems when one is traveling ON it. If you ever want a fun adventure go rent a houseboat. We will again in the next year or two.
