SE Iowa | You won't see much of the river on much of the route on either side. Really good view on both sides from Keokuk Lock and Dam north (not hwy 61) on River Road to north of Montrose (beautiful right here) on Iowa side and Hamilton to Nauvoo on Ill side. Mormon stuff at Nauvoo, good eat south of Montrose, Ia. on River Road. Largest swing span railroad/car bridge in the world at Fort Madison/Niota. Awesome bridge at Burlington. No view of river from Nauvoo to Niota, partial view from Nauvoo toward Dallas City. Good eat at Palmyra, Mo east side of square, Rebel Pig off 61. View of river just north of Canton, Mo. Probably flooding the bottom there also as it was two weeks ago. | |
