did you have a lot of frost/freeze damage? im hoping ours is better but seeing a lot of whiter heads now im thinking its more freeze here, yes the place we take wheat takes it at 21% no drying charge it makes wheat beans much better and pencils better.

I can’t tell that the frost/freeze is a leading factor, but yields are a bit lower than I’d hoped for. I’m about a 3rd done so far. Wet winter left it thin in places, kinda wished I’d pushed my population a hair. Running 1.9-2mil no-till. I planted closer to mid-late October, so that seems to be better around here. September planted wheat seems to have taken a hit. I’ve got a continuous flow dryer, but have never dried wheat before. Have rain coming this weekend and have the potential to finish wheat harvest and bean planting before then, so taking advantage. Quality is very good right now, and want to keep it that way. |
