Saronville NE | Cut my first field ever today for a neighbor of teff grass. That stuff kinda cuts hard, put new knives on the disc mower this morning before cutting it and still couldnt get much over 8 mph. My questions are, how high are you supposed to cut it to get it to regrow? We cut it about 3-4 in high, will that be enuff? How long will it take to dry usually? This stuff was about at the top of the deck of the dischead, so not real tall but very thick, nice windrows, tryed to lay it out fairly flat. Real heavy dews here the last few mornings that dont go off till close to 11 or noon, then low 70s till the end of the week then 80s, will it even go this week? Ive always heard it is tuff to get it dry. Would it help to run a macerator over it to recrimp it to get it to dry faster or not since there isnt much stem? Thanks for any advice you can give me, this is all new to me and the customer, he is the first guy in the area here to try teff. | |
