Check or replace the engine fan bearing right away.

I personally prefer the 86 series shift better, but that’s personal preference.

They still have a TA. Electric actuated and shifts every time you shift the speed trans. Also the tranny brake is hydraulic actuated, vs the mechanical linkage like 86 series and older.

The hydraulic pumps are expensive, but the pfc system with in-cab flow controls is nice.

Don’t know about the “every ih needs AC work” comment, they are old tractors but the ac is nothing odd or troublesome, any ac mech can get it going or repair it. Nice cool quiet cabs.

Has it ever been overhauled? Sleeve cavitation and o-rings are a concern at those age and hrs.
