Guy has to do whats in the best interest of the farm, long term and short, After buying cut rate chemicals for the last ten years or so I have found that most locals can come close. IF THEY WANT. Depends on the situation. glyphos is usually the exception. It still boggles the mind that a co-op that sells thousands of gallons tells me they can't buy it for 9.75. Yet if you ask them if they would like a load they decline. With the buying power they have they should be able to meet any other prices. Sometimes the name brand stuff is close enough that we get all that local. Fertilizer is another story. With out good enough storage to hold it we are locked in to two or three dealers. The co-op to their credit has always delivered with in three hours of calling and will call during the day to see how were coming and to get set-up for any week ends. Workers are first rate when delivering. That is worth something to us.
Depending on how much you spend in a year the saving could pay for a new well with all the goodies in a few years.
