West Salem, Illinois | Moved cows to greener pastures and weaned calves on saturday, as the cows were filing by into the trailer I got to noticing how many were missing one or both ear tags. Most of these cows are commercial cows so they don't have any tatoo's. So that pretty much shoots my record keeping system in the butt! Was wondering about freeze branding, does anyone do it? I think that I will still tag the calves and any heifers that are saved back I would brand. Most of the cows are black hided so I don't think fire brands will work.
P.S. If you do use were did you get them from and what ball park price were they?
