Northern Ohio | The sugar beet farmer always put grooves in the ground with the planter, then followed them with single rib tires on the tractor and V tires on the cultivator. We have been using this system for a number of years and it is very effective. More accurate than RTK, can cultivate very small crops that can’t be done with most guidance systems. Can even cultivate where parts or all of the crop has not emerged, can’t do that with a camera system. And it is WAAAAY cheaper.
Edit to add: it steers the tractor also.
