Subject: RE: Hauling Creep Feed

What part didn’t you feel worked? Not trying to persuade anyone to put more pounds of beef on the market. Just never have understood how a person can go backwards, especially with the op blending their own. For example with $3 corn $3 oats and a 14%pellet at $235/T it only costs $0.86 for the feed to make a pound of gain. And that’s at 10:1 conversion, have never seen calves do that poorly but always like to figure for the worst. Not sure the last time feeders were under a dollar but adding in the equipment/hauling expense it still shouldn’t cost over a dollar per pound of gain. $1.00 investment for $1.2-1.xx? per pound feeder calves at sale time, not sure what pencil a guy has to use for that not to look at least break even on paper.
