Subject: RE: Kelly Ryan 12 foot bagger

Wisconsin
Neighbor had a 8ft. Kelly Ryan bagger I think it must ave been one of the first model's available. The big problem's it had were it had bolt tension brake drum's to hold back drop that were hard to adjust. The wagon unloading conveyor was ran into and over so much silage was wasted and he tore up many rear tractor tires on it. The transport to work tires and spindle's were so bent and weak it was just plum wore down. He blew apart a few gearboxes and on and on. Having that all done I think it was the most used bagger in our area ever. When bagging corn silage about any size and tractor will do but for hay HP. and bagger need to match you need to push the air out when packing it in there. The 4020 on a 10ft. wasn't enough. The best one we ever rented was an off breed from Canada it had self contained hydraulic's for everything. Bag hanger, cable tension rewind, and the nicer feature a slide in floor to dump the silage when bag was done. We rent mostly AG Baggers as they are most popular and available now. 1600 sound's like a mechanic nightmare unless location wise they are not used much in our are on a 12ft. rental and bag would be close to 1600$ depending on length of bag so something seam's off there.
