Up here in the Great White North the majority of herds still keep the registrations up. Herds are small compared to many areas in the US, most farms in my area are 60 - 100 milking cows. I've kept mine up but sometimes wonder if it is worth the bother, it does help when there are a few extra heifers to sell, the papers make them a lot more marketable.
