And Dekalb scores it very well on emergence. Scale of 1-9, 1 being the best, it gets a 2. I agree with others, slow out of the ground.
I think you must be reading the wrong line because it is rated a 5 on emergence in my area (2020 central Illinois). 5 is the lowest of anything close in its maturity range.
I was worried about it at first, but now it looks very good. "Here" it is typically near the last out of the ground, but it usually ends up yielding at or near the top.
Planting it in your northern geography, I do not have experience with but I would be cautious as it is "full season" down here. B/T/W I am not a Dekalb apologist, I plant several brands. In my high yield environment it has worked well. |
