Subject: Cow died... struck by lightning?

Columbia City, Indiana
Had a cow die, of course one of the best ones. 5 1/2 years old, raised me a few good calves. Can never be the turds. I think it may have been lightning, her tongue was sticking out and all ripped up. No other visible wounds, though she bled out her eye, which I thought was weird. Insurance is being a pain in the butt, they won't pay unless a vet signs off that it was lightning that killed her. We have hardly any vets within 30 miles, so I have to find out if it's worth it to pay one to come out. Then if he decides it's not lightning, I'm out the charge for the vet to come out, and the cost of the rendering truck. Friday evening, she'll probably be pretty rank by Monday. Any thoughts...???
