    north central iowa | Oh the steiners bring back memories.  Dad would buy 100 to 150 bottle calves from Gene Gonering(order buyer that grouped calves from Wisconsin).  We would get up between 4:30 and 5 in the morning to bottle feed them.  We would feed them out.  If they would happen to break out of their pen, no matter what size they wouldn't go far.  A lot of times they would come out by our house.  Now the calves from our cow herd, if they got out, they would be on the highway!
