Likely common cocklebur (xanthium pennsylvanicum), from a weed seedling flip book. cotyledons: smooth; shiny; fleshy; lanceolate; joining around the stem. The cotyledons on the bur cucumber (sicyos angulatus )were far broader; large; prominent veins; rough near the base
I agree; these do not look like the bur cucumber we have here. If you do any gardening, a bur cucumber seedling looks a lot like a squash/pumpkin, with much rounder cotyledons than shown in the OP's picture. |
