cropsey, il 61731 | On this board others have talked about late glyph applications on beans where there was a yield loss when the fertilizer guys sprayed it and no yeild drop when they did it themselves. It leads me to think that the fertilizer guys would use as hot a mix as possible to kill the weeds, prevent a return trip and satisfy the customer. On the other hand, when we spray ourselves most of us just use ams/citron/similar and spray. Could something the fertilizer guys added be hard on the corn? I thought the big headline spray issues were related to adjuvants and not as much the headline.
I know I've sprayed beans (I know we are talking corn) really really late to kill a bunch of giant ragweed and I did have a yeild loss - but it was lots of glyphosate really late. It would be interesting to find out if the herbicide resistance in corn changes a lot over it's growth cycle.
thanks,
