I buttoned it back up after looking inside, with everything surface mounted on the PC board, there was nothing obvious like a diode (I am an electrical engineer but out of the field for 20 years) . They should have a diode in series as well; this will not conduct if reverse polarity. If it has a diode to blow fuse, the diode blew to save the fuse. Looks like it is back to ag leader. Poor design
