Subject: A few of the bulls. (pics)

Missouri
Getting close to finishing up the AI work at home and working toward getting bulls kicked out.

The old guy gets a good sized group of cows. He got away from me before I got a pic, but he's really starting to show his age compared to this pic of him last year. He's been used hard and put away wet for several years, so I hope to get him collected before he needs shipped.

One of the two year olds cleaning up a group of first calvers. I'm a pretty big fan of this guy and he's going to work on several 1/4 sibs in an attempt to stack up the good stuff. He'd be a half sib to the above bull.

This guy gets to clean up his third group of heifers. His first calves came this spring and averaged 68lbs. For being as easy calving as he is he's got a pretty good top and rib in him and I wish I would have scanned him to see what it actually was. He's also 1/4 australian and has an interesting eye lid that I'm hoping might help with some eye problems I can't seem to get away from.

This bull has been a long term project to bring back some fescue tolerance, marbling, and a ridged eye my cows desperately need. His pedigree is from the 80s and they punished him with a very terrible bw epd. I gave him a few cows as a yearling and they averaged 74lbs with a 112 ratio this spring so he's getting his fair share in his second season. He's obviously a bit unrefined and much more of a throwback to the old dual type, but there's some really good stuff wrapped up in his pedigree that I hope to unlock. A few of the cows in his pedigree actually have milk records on file across the pond from many years ago. No, I don't own a horse and can't throw a rope!

The last few are some of the AI bulls we've dropped in cows this spring.
