I think many people on here have had good results with a Brother color unit like I have.  My model is a MFC-9970CDW.  It is a big unit and made to do a lot of work.  Over the years I have tried the generic toner cartridges with mixed results. I have come to the conclusion at least for me to get the best color output, I just buy Brother OEM from a place like B&H photo which seems to have a fair price.
