Subject: prarieboy...poor man's strip till question...or any other in-house experts

EC MN - Hour North of 'The Cities'
We are weighing the options of strip till with Rawson coulters on a toolbar, or to just use a shank and mounding discs (fall strips) instead of the Rawson setup.

I was curious of how your spring strip till rig penetrated, and how ddep the loose soil was in your strips? Do you think it would work in the fall on a 3 point, or would you need more weight for down pressure?

We're trying to figure out the cheapest way to try strip till, and we keep coming back to the Rawson setup (less HP, faster operating speeds, can be used in both fall & spring, no smearing in wet conditions), but would like to know if it would have a chance at working in the fall with only a 3 point as downforce.

Thanks,
Lance
