You are correct on the diff. The traction issue normally starts with the auto steer spinning out one track by the time you realize it and grab wheel it's too late. I have thought about the hydraulic hitch option also. I have unlocked drawbar and let it swing to get pointed right direction. Seems like you only get one chance before it sinks
