I think last year we had a fairly mild winter also but then a long extended cool wet spring in some areas. I recall a weather forecaster saying there was a correlation between the two.

We may have to fight the urge to plant super early his year - and risk losing it all to late frost. It may be a year to plan on planting by the calendar rather than looking outdoors. jmho.
