Subject: RE: MF 8650 DEF code

I do understand and it all makes perfect sense, but I haven't found a pinout diagram of that 36 pin connector. Most are labeled, but I'm not finding any labeling on this one. My service manual doesn't have wiring diagrams for the DEF system... Go figure. I do know the tech checked all the continuity of the wires with a schematic last summer and it was good, but I also understand that doesn't mean much now.

I did open that 36 pin connector up, took the cover off, and looked at the pins and they all look great, no signs of corrosion on them. The power module is new last year, and it's good best I can tell. The replaced 2 pin amp plug on the suction/return line is good as well, no corrosion. The splice is good, no corrosion, good continuity. The wiring between both, while covered up in conduit, does not look damaged in any way and I cannot find any evidence visually of a problem there, but that doesn't mean much I know. The point about wiring problems where it comes out of the battery box shows no evidence of any damage.

I can say for the last 3 years, this tractor hasn't sat outside or seen any rodent pressure. I keep that all well under control. I've spent many hours cleaning this thing since we bought it. But, I highly doubt, based on the cleaning I've done, repairs I've made, that the prior owner did anything preventing any of this. There have been some corrosion issues here and there that I've dealt with and cleaned copious amounts of manure and other debris from all those "hidden" places. They look like they could tear up an anvil in a sandpile based on some of the things that I've fixed or just put up with. The module area and battery box are cleaned after spring and fall. The only filth in them is dust from this spring.

The tractor is a 2011, 2100 hours.

Thanks for all your help with this. It went down for an alternator idler yesterday, so I'm getting parts this morning (always a Sunday...)
