Kansas | Could have used this a month ago, have got 6-7 inches last 3 weeks (2 last night and this morning). Corn is drying up and still little green. Most of our beans are putting on more out the top but pods are small and unsure whether they would catch up to pods already there and filled before the plants start to dry. Most milo is headed and changing color so not sure if this last rain will help or not. Have one 40 of double crop beans just now getting out of the stubble so this should do wonders for that at least. My seed dealer boss told me that as long as the corn has some green, rain will help it because the plant will still use the moisture to stop cob shrinkage, true? Supposed to stay wet next few days. | |
