Elemental sulfur sure isn't a "better way" "here". AMS isn't any better unless the N is needed, and then you still have to compare costs vs gypsum plus another N sources. Don't forget how much acidity is released with AMS versus other N sources, so then you need to add in the cost of some lime to correct the acidity....
