Our farm took prevent plant on 100% of or corn last year. Didn’t plant 1 acre. Finished up planting corn last night after an awesome one week run. I read those posts last summer about how terrible it was to be taking PP and how farmers had an obligation to PLANT also. Can’t remember who it was, but he posted regularly how he kept planting and got stuck in the mud so often, like it was a fricken badge of honor!! I felt then and still feel that we paid for the insurance and it had the PP provision, there was no shame in using it. As for where we are with corn prices, ethanol has been under attack with the waivers for over three years. Throw in the effects of an ill conceived trade war and this pandemic/oil collapse is just the final nail in the coffin. So many on here refuse to acknowledge where much of the blame goes with this situation. Open your eyes people!!
