Near-north Ontario, French River | 3/4 of a mile through bush, lots of bends and curves, ups and down that would require cable braces etc. They figured 15-20 poles. Not much soil in the area, in many places its exposed granite, so its not as simple as augering a hole in the ground and dropping a post in.... and they would require brush to be cleared around the wires as well, so again 3/4 of a mile of bushing/logging etc etc.. Keep in mind I'm only "technically off grid, because I'm not connected to the power lines, I'm far from isolated... grocery store is 5minutes away on a well maintained asphalt road. |
