Subject: SAE 50 wt transmission oil

Royal City, WA
NAPA carries a Valvoline 50 wt. manual transmission oil, part # 706035M. There are lots of center pivots in this area, and most irrigators use 80w-140. In season, if they develop a really leaky gear box, they pump in corn head grease, or equivalent. As long as the gear box has oil based in it, it will keep running. Like another poster said, the are a slow speed gear box! I know one farmer that drained all of the oil out of his leaky gear boxes and pumped them full of liquid grease (NGLI #00) and they have been giving no problems.
