Yes I understand that the current 5kw inverter wont handle the output of an enlarged 8kw or 10kw array. but is there a way to limit the power coming from an enlarged array so that it does exceed 5kw? If you look at production curves they are very much "bell" curves, by enlarging the array but limiting the max out put to 5kw( on a 8 or 10kw array" in theory you should be able to get greater overall production by "stretching " the bell curve out over more hours. Additionally a large array offers some chance of providing adquate power on cloudy days, when production is likely to be 50% or less anyway, just due to cloud cover. Perhaps the cheapest route is to just add a larger array, and second charge controller? just trying to think of alternatives.
