nw pa | We just use the cutting torch, get and older tip and put some qarter inch pipe threads on the end of the tip. Put coupling and then ball valve on it from there we use a hose reel or if you can drive close enough just a five foot piece of rubber hose on the end of the ball valve. The biggest thing is to set the torch like you are going to cut metal then tape the valves in that spot. Once you have it set you can use the ball valve to turn it off and on.Stick the hose down the hole as far as possible. Run about thirty seconds in a hole and then set that off. Take out the hose and set it far aside. The sound will give you an indication of whats needed for time. We then set the thing off with a ten foot piece of plastic conduit. A piece of paper towel in the end with a little gas on it will burn nice. hold the pipe at an angle so it won't blow back. This allows a safe distance for gravel and stones. It seems that woodies always have a little breather hole that comes up to the top of the ground. The rodenator has you standing right over the hole. Not good. Firt few times you do it start small. We have run the gas till you can smell it coming out the other holes, now that makes a big bang. The other thing is if you are near a town you might want to let them know what you are doing. We usually have quite a few who like to watch the blasting. | |
