It's a good chance you need to go ahead and rebuild the whole steering valve. You can order parts from Midwest Steering or send the unit in and let them do it. That puller will probably need a tap with a hammer to get it off. Not saying you should do this but pretty sure I screwed the nut down almost flush after removing the washer from behind it. I sat in the seat with my legs under the wheel and over the dash so I could lift up. I then used a large piece of brass on the nut and tapped with a hammer. After doing that I got to thinking that might have bumped that shaft against something but it's working ok after rebuilding. Those Allen head screws you want a good hex bit socket for them. I think I used one of those tools you put the socket on and hit with a hammer to help break them lose. That plate with the either bottom needs removing to undo the lines. |
