Strathcona, mn | I was just into my pto on my Dt180a. There is a shift solenoid for each pto speed below the hydraulic stack above the rear ended. On mine it would show that it was engaging but then spin a little and kick out. I switched solenoids and nothing changed. When shifting into 1000 I could spin it by hand with some clicking. In neutral it would free wheel. I switched speed sensors and nothing changed. I ended up pulling back plate with pto out of tractor. There was a shifting puck that had come loose and fallen out. I reinstalled and pto works fine. It only took about 2 hours to get back plate off including draining transmission/rear end fluid. How the pto works is the pto clutch is on top shaft. The top shaft spins gear sets for all pto options simultaneously. On the bottom shaft there is a shifting collar that shifts between pto speeds. | |
