If you aren't a commercial growing stop worrying about it.  We use our 8500 series White and it does fine.  Shut the center fill off, take field corn out of the hopper, put sweet corn in, put field corn back on top and go plant.  when it's out it's out.  

Spacing is pretty irrelevant.
