| This is like looking in a mirror right now!
We bought an 8730S last fall, called our Ag Leader dealer to do the same (we started strip till last year) and found out the same issue- the Datatronic 5 in them is radically different from any past systems. AGCO guys supposedly got it set up and this spring went out to strip till, every guess row is different, tractor holds a straight line but the line is constantly in the wrong place. We finally got the dealer out yesterday to check it (software update and some calibrations) and took it back to field....still off (RTK is Digifarm and they say all clear on their end)! At a loss, we are going to bulk spread some fertilizer so I guess we are sitting here questioning why we have a strip till machine we are making payments on. It's really frustrating as it seems they pushed this S series to market but didn't educate their dealers on them at all!
To be some hope for you friend, our Ag Leader told me the other day that Ag Leader has updated and now can steer the S series..too bad for us its too late in the season and it will have to wait until after planting. So check with your dealer it seems the light at the end of the tunnel is here.
Until then, please don't drive by my fields as it looks like we stripped on WAAS signal. | |
