I think the first step would be to check the electrical connections between the joystick and the control box. I know Alo (Quicke) used to have some good diagnostic guides, but it has been a few years since I was involved. I don't know if you can contact them directly or you could go through a Bush Hog dealer. You will need to specify that it is the old CDC system.
