SW Wisconsin | Since January, corn has lost .70 cents off an already low price. Demand has been dismal and now is being trimmed more with ethanol plants not even taking bids.
I asked the Frau a question this morning.
Would she still go to work if she would not be paid or, perhaps there might be a pay check coming later, but you should still go work regardless.
She emphatically said "no"! Then she chuckled.
This is how I am feeling about spring planting in 2020.
It appears we head towards "clearing house" prices to trim burdensome supply.
At what price do you admit that it is not worth it now?
Perhaps I should call a BTO in the county and ask if he would like to rent my acres this year?
Or perhaps just not do anything and see if I can still collect the USDA handouts that every one is counting on; sit back and watch the wheels turn.
The Republicans (who traditionally want smaller government and try to balance a budget) just added $2 trillion more debt and are already talking about $2 trillion more. In the month of March our law makers increased the budget over 50% and may do it again. How long can that continue before the great reckoning comes?
How will American grain producers profit in this new economic climate?
