Tilley, Alberta | We had a few field scale trials a number of years back when the product was called "Provide". Our trials were 80 acres of hard wheat half/half split, next year 100 acres of canola same way, and an alfalfa trial. You couldn't see any noticeable difference visually, in fact the treated canola side looked lighter. Random swaths were harvested from each side and weighed. when it was all said and done, it was an average of 6.5% increase in HRSW, and a 7% yield increase on canola. The really impressive trial was on the alfalfa. Not only was it visual, but the chopper operator thought we had 2 different varieties in the same field. It was like night and day. The problem back then was the fact it was a pain to apply, because it wasn't compatible with the petroleum based seed treatments out there, and had to be treated in a separate operation. Now with the water based products, compatibility isn't quite as bad. | |
