Blue Grass (Eastern IA)
The 3239RR2 are going down, I'm sure because the 3402's are on the headlands, they are standing good. I posted a few weeks ago that I spot sprayed some weed escapes with a PT sprayer and didn't drag down any beans. Well, I couldn't do that now. Even the beans that are standing good have so much branching that they are intertwined between rows. It is even tough walking with the rows. They are 42"+ tall, I sure down need any wind. Kind of think they will end up doing 65-70bu ave, hard to believe that many pods will abort though, they may just be smaller beans. This is getting exciting. Seeing corn 16-18x45 at 34,000 pop. = 290bu. Hoping for 250bu. Will start custom chopping corn silage in a few weeks, so I will get a good idea of the crop before combines roll.
